Alma Cocina Buckhead’s menu will combine local ingredients, traditional techniques and Latin American flavors to create memorable dishes that simultaneously feel intriguing and familiar. Following Fifth Group’s model of showcasing individual executive chefs’ creativity via seasonal menu updates, the Buckhead menu will be similar in style to the Downtown location though individual items will vary as a result of Chef Chad Clevenger’s influence such as the masa fried shrimp with apple-celery root slaw and arbol mayo and chile en nogada, a poblano pepper filled with fried cauliflower, black beans, butternut squash, pomegranate and walnut sauce.
The beverage program will showcase distinct ties to agave and other Latin American spirits. The restaurant’s featured cocktails will be sophisticated, yet approachable and include customizable and interactive elements. Tequila cubes, for example, are a selection of tequilas expertly paired with infused ice cubes such as morello cherry, cara-cara orange, cassis and mint.
New at the Buckhead location, Alma Cocina plans to feature weekend brunch service on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.. The menu will spotlight Clevenger’s take on popular Mexican breakfast dishes such as the breakfast burrito smothered in salsa verde with scrambled eggs, chihuahua cheese, chorizo and pico de gallo; tres leches French toast topped with mixed berries, passion fruit maple syrup, toasted coconut and whipped cream; and capirotada, a savory bread pudding with chorizo, rajas, chihuahua cheese, sunny-side eggs, salsa ranchero and cilantro.
